Dear Lucy,

A lot of things are different now, with you, me and your dad, after you turned one. You started walking properly, you learned how to tell us (by pointing) what you want, you learned new words (“no”, “go”, “there” and, the most recent, “wow!”)… your personality is truly developing. You are now a  little, adorable mischeif maker. You’ve learned that you can melt our hearts with this weird smile you do. You’ve learned to imitate the things we do, like playing games on the itouch, singing, throwing things in the waste basket and (fake) snoring. You have grown increasingly clingy to your dad, crying and giving him puppy dog eyes when he leaves the room. You want him to accompany you everywhere, from the other side of the room to the bathroom. It’s sweet that you are so close, so malambing, to him. The silliest thing you’ve done so far is push his and my heads together to make us kiss. You did that around 4 times in a row and everytime we do, you would laugh and do it again. It’s as if you love seeing us happy together.

Don’t worry baby, everything’s going to be awesome, I promise.

Anak, :*. My little bug is sick. What happened love? You keep on vomitting, keeping Mommy awake. Get better soon little bug.

We’re going to the hospital later this evening. No injections, baby.

On the bright side though, you seem to grow fond of Spongebob. You tried to imitate his laugh the other day. Then you look at me and your mom as if saying “Did I do that right, Mommy, Daddy?”

Anak, first of all I’m sorry I haven’t been writing lately. I’ve just been barely missing crisis after crisis. You may find that this may happen from time to time but nonetheless I want you to know that I am doing this for you and I am never far from of your side.

Your Mom and I were going through your baby book just this night. You have grown so much.

Earlier this evening, we were all watching Spongebob. Your Mom and I were sleepy. I rested my head on the armchair with my arm. I kept on watching, and you were probably watching what I was doing. So you did the same. You rested your head on the armchair with your arm.

You catch on pretty quick.

Today you took three steps to me and then gave me a kiss/bite on the cheek. You make every bad day better. I love you.
